DC-coupled resistive silicon detectors for 4D tracking

چکیده

In this work, we introduce a new design concept: the DC-Coupled Resistive Silicon Detectors, based on LGAD technology. This approach intends to address few known features of first generation AC-Coupled Detectors (RSD). Our simulation exploits fast hybrid combination two packages, Weightfield2 and LTSpice. It demonstrates that key RSD are maintained, yielding excellent timing spatial resolutions: tens ps microns. presentation, will outline optimization methodology results simulation. We present detailed studies effect changing ratio between n+ layer resistivity low-resistivity ring achievable temporal resolution.

Silicon tracking detectors in high-energy physics

Since the fifties, semiconductors have been used as energy spectrometers, mainly in unsegmented ways. With the planar technique of processing silicon sensors in unprecedented precession, strip-like segmentation has allowed precise tracking and even vertexing, culminating in the early eighties with NA11 in the tagging of heavy flavor quarks—here the c-quark. With the later miniaturization of ele...

Novel Data Acquisition System for Silicon Tracking Detectors

We have developed a novel data acquisition system for measuring tracking parameters of a silicon detector in a particle beam. The system is based on a commercial Analog-to-Digital VME module and a PC Linux based Data Acquisition System. This DAQ is realized with C++ code using object-oriented techniques. Track parameters for the beam particles were reconstructed using off-line analysis code and...

Proton Irradiation on AC-coupled Silicon Microstrip Detectors

To test the radiation tolerance of full-size detectors, four large-area AC-coupled single-sided silicon microstrip detectors were fabricated. The detectors had a size of 6 cm×3.4 cm and were made out of a 300 μm thick, high-resistivity, n-type silicon, simulating the p-side of the double-sided silicon microstrip detectors being developed. The AC coupling layer had either a single layer of SiO2 ...

Development of radiation hard silicon detectors for the CBM Silicon Tracking System using Simulation Approach

The very intense radiation environment of the planned Compressed Baryonic Matter (CBM) experiment at the international research center FAIR makes radiation hardness a very important issue for the Silicon Tracking System (STS). The STS will consist of eight stations of double sided strip detectors at a distance between 25 cm to 100 cm downstream of the target. It is expected that the total integ...

Tracking and Alignment Performance of the LHCb silicon detectors

The LHCb experiment is primarily dedicated to the study of new physics through the heavy flavour decays. The tracking system of LHCb is composed of a silicon micro-strip vertex detector, two silicon strip tracker detectors and a set of straw-tube drift chambers in front of and behind a dipole generating a magnetic field. This system provides precise measure of the vertex position and high momen...
